don't play if there's some insane storm going on?

I mean if I'm in seb crypt with a bunch of randos and I see a tree limb going flying by my window I'd think common sense dictates "hey guys I gotta go"

There is probably ongoing internal staff debate between devs and CSR over the freely given corpse recovery after a rot that has occurred over the years.

Implementing this would likely increase the work load on CSR, if the current course of assisting in recovery of rotted corpses continues.
per this thread from yesterday (which was already deleted), looks like they don't always restore corpses anymore....

Slight exageration there. I started EQ in July of '99, nearly 4 months after launch, and /consent looting lasted at least two months after I started. That said, it's a pretty terrible idea and the six-ish months it was in the game are one of several testaments to how amazingly clueless Verant could be.
i started in january of 2000 and my 13 year old self definitely scammed people in blackburrow by getting them to /consent me and then i kept the shit i looted off their corpse.

hi, think i forgot?

Characters Level 6 and above - Corpse will dissapear within 24 hours if the player is online (being at the character select screen STILL counts as online).
Corpses will dissapear within 1 week if the player is offline.

shits classic. see ya sky corpses, see ya AC ring and other no drop corpsing. see ya nerds.

Bump for classic corpse rot times on Green.

Quote:
CORPSE RECOVERY. This is from a post on EQ Vault by John Smedley: "In a nutshell, the Corpse Recovery rules are as follows: Characters All Levels: If you have no items on your corpse, it will dissapear within 3 minutes. Characters Level 1-5: Corpse will dissapear within 30 minutes (real time) whether you are online or offline. Those of you wondering why this rule is in place? - There would be WAY to many bodies if we didn't do it this way. Characters Level 6 and above - Corpse will dissapear within 24 hours if the player is online (being at the character select screen STILL counts as online). Corpses will dissapear within 1 week if the player is offline."
Naked level 1 newbie corpses lasting 7 days is gonna get ridiculous.

Okay I think the corpse con timers are lying.

I just made a naked level 1 newbie corpse and conned it, the timer says 7 days.

But it rotted as I was searching the forum for this thread to bump. Couldn't have been more than 5 minutes.

That's pretty close to a classic rot time but the timer shouldn't be lying to me.

Edit: I waited until the rez timer ticked down to 0, then the corpse rotted. So it rots in 7 minutes. Not classic but also better than I feared.

We shouldn't GM summon/restore corpses on Green

GM on live would never assist with planar corpse rots etc
