Character Creation/Spell effects are outdated

I have the same issue- outdated spell effects and error code sp1-
Downloaded the V36 files from here and updated but my computer thinks the dsetup.dll file included in this download is a Trojan virus and deletes it. I have tried this on 3 different computers each running a different virus program (Nortons, McAfee, MS security essentials) and get the same darn problem.
(Had to put the dsetup.dll file from the installation disk to get the game to even run again at this point.)
Able to log back in to the game but it still thinks my spells are out of date in spite of having the most updated version of Project 1999. Help??
