I would have to say arguing to add name plates because its what they did on live is dumb. I argue for nameplates because I believe the server as a whole will benefit. I also view aon nameplates as like the 4th or 5th most important issue ATM so not sure why its getting the most fan fair

Yowl enjoy your Aons and hoping they get nerfed. I'm just sitting here watching my pet get charmed and being useless in pvp as all my spells get resisted.

True. And it was beneficial to mass PvP. The end result was they obviously thought nameplates were a good idea for some reason, and the incoming expansion was a good time to implement it rather than coding before that since a crapload of models were being adjusted/changed.

It's a huge clusterf**k here and it's only going to get worse into Velious because if it's not changed not only will CT will still be dropping it but so will the golems...and it's only going to become an even larger issue.

The wording in the patch notes (which came 35 days after Luclin launch, not with the new models) seems to indicate they were trying to remove any occurrence where a nameplate did not appear:
Quote:
- A player character will always have a name over its head, even if
they are skeletons (unless /shownames is off), with the exception of
some rare cases when players are turned into certain NPCs

i would assume that was because the new model wasn't consistent with the old model that some people had(i assume from not having the luclin expansion installed)

the idea that they did it with any regard to PvP is pretty insane

I don't think PVP had anything to do with it. I think it was bugged the entire time and they got around to fixing it.

i agree, that was likely the case; they probably just didn't notice enough to give a shit until they made a new model and there was a discrepancy

ragnaros spamming "THEY PUT IN NAMEPLATES BECAUSE IT WAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM ON PVP SERVERS" is very much likely way off the mark

Mr Culkin, that doesn't change the fact that there are atleast 10x more aons on this server then there ever was on live, and they had over 2k population, which here we have 200.
It is damaging the server and giving an advantage to the zerg guild.
Fix it
