Default The Day Luclin came out on Live

I know this isn't P1999 related but I saw it the other day when browsing old game screenshot's I had taken. This was a screenshot of me messing around on my warrior, with some GM's the day Luclin came out. If anyone played then you would know that stuff was all messed up that day. Some GM's came to EC tunnel and were goofing around since the server's were going to be taken down again.

The GM's were growing themselves and random other people, this was my twink warrior in the screenshot, and we terrorized the newbies.

I don't remember how far away I was from Luclin release, but I may have played the first few days because I remember everyone talking about it. I was a barb running through Netherbien Cave (forget name of the zone) and someone says "Wow Barbs are good looking." Unfortunately, I shut off most models because my system would crawl. Was a GeForce 2, I think. In fact, it crawled even after disabling most of them, so I just went back to the old zones to get smooth framerate. Now imagine trying to run Luclin on my original system which was much slower and had a Voodoo 2. You wouldn't! Qeynos was a slideshow on it!

People forget I think how big of a system requirement jump it was from old zones to Luclin.

EDIT: I must have played during luclin launch because I made my longest lived character in late 2001 on SZ. 2001 was a big year for me in EQ. Is when I got the new system. I had barely played EQ after the first few months in 1999.

The was a section in Shar Vahl that would always make my pc chug, somewhere right in the middle with the fountain where it opens up.

They look fabulous darling, till they move.

Who the hell animated them? I hope they're proud of their shoddy work.[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I don't think there was a computer in existence that could run Luclin at 30fps with shadows turned on
