In regards to this question and answer that was posted: Can I play with my roommate/family member? It says there is only one account per IP allowed.
You certainly can. Just make a thread in the petition/bug subforum stating who you want to play with and other relevant information. Just be aware that if you're caught 2boxing or otherwise controlling both accounts at once, it will result in an immediate ban of both accounts. I would like to play with my son using 2 accounts but don’t want to have them locked out since they would be off of the same IP (Public). If I was to purchase 2 static IP addresses would this solve my issue? Thanks

Just petition an exemption... It takes a couple weeks to be applied, but it's a lot cheaper.
If you're confused by the "controlling both accounts at once" part, that refers to one person playing both accounts at once, not two people playing together.

Go to the Petitions section of this forum and post your request for an IP exemption.
Then wait patiently for a couple weeks :P

Sorry one more question. If I currently have DHCP, my Ip address will change periodically. How will that help if they exepmt one and 2 weeks later my ip changes?

The IP of the individual computers doesn't matter, it's the IP of your router... like the IP address that would show at ipchicken.com

Sorry, that part I understand. I currently have a DHCP address given to me by my ISP which is a public address that is issued to my router and of course theirs private Ip's behind that that the pc's actually use. However if I have a DHCP that's a public address on the WAN side of my router can't that changeas well? I'm not trying to argue just trying to understand. Thanks...
