Avalon used to be pay to play but last year went free to play. Your guild or city will sponsor your time there with a renewable sponsorship once you get through the introduction and choose a guild. The latest comment under the youtube video talks about the change from the original posting 4 years ago. I thought I had put a link in to the webpage so I do apologize. The gem quest that I wrote about is an opportunity to win a spot in the games big quest to become a deity. Even younger players have the chance as the gem quests are different to normal every day PvP in the realm.
If this isn't really your thing the realm has lots of different things that might interest just about anyone. Their farming and labours skills produce all the commodities in the land from plowing, planting and harvesting fields to processing the harvest, mining for ores, beekeeping, animal breeding, raising, slaughtering and tanning and the list goes on. Legion warfare is a big part of the world where cities can march troops to enemy cities to raze buildings and plunder that city's commodities. That is just the tip of the iceberg really. My original goal was to let people know about the big event coming up that some might be interested in. I'm happy to field any other questions
