Wink Possible Returning Player.....Questions.

Hey guys,

I put in about a year on this server a few years back and really enjoyed the leveling process. However, towards to end.....things did go sour. I was finding it very difficult to get to any of the good content (raid wise) because of my work schedule, and I wouldn't be able to get up at 2 AM to engage or track for hours.

I'd love to come back and play because I really miss the game......and I was curious if Velious has made things better.

Are there still 5+ hour hold ups waiting for a mob to spawn? Are the guilds that get this content still fighting to the max ?

Just curious if it's worth it......

Thanks in advance.

Raid scene is more or less the same.

Lots of tracking and poopsocking, logging your alts at raid targets, blah blah blah. Unless you want to neckbeard not worth it.

You even have to poopsock quest turn ins now and win the clickfest.

Thanks for your response Calibix. That is what I was worried about. I would love to come back and get the nostalgia feel from my favorite MMORPG, but I just hoped things would have changed so I could enjoy it.....not just log in to a 2nd job lol.

It felt like work last time, and it just robbed me of the experience.

I do love leveling though. maybe it would be worth the log in just to make a new fresh char and get em to 60 lol

It's worth it if you think it's worth it. No one is forcing you to do it and you can enjoy the game outside of the raid scene until you're ready to hop into the raid scene. A lot of guilds have timers for specific mobs but variance can still cause some poopsocking on stuff like Trakanon who have a lengthy variance. A lot of the higher end guilds go to ToV and kill mobs there for armor which is something you don't need to sock for unless you are there to farm the dragons. If your goal is to be end game raiding then yes.. you'll be socking. You can join other less populated servers if that's an issue where you can spawn raid mobs whenever you want and kill them.. but on P99 the sock is strong.

Ya in all honesty I think it was just the raid scene that was essentially the ruiner of it for me. without that I feel I'd probably have alot of fun and I met alot of great players along the way I'd love to get back to playing with.

May be seeing you all online soon!

What is there to do in Velious outside of raiding though? A couple of dungeons that that for the most part suck, some quests that you would have to poopsock to maybe complete, and that's about it.

If your not a raider, Velious is a shit expansion.

I'm having a great time! Watching all the dwarves in Thurgadin interacting, doing various side quests, playing in the snow, charming animals and killing everything, getting stuff on my own, making friends, seeing new places...

I dunno I feel like the life of a casual raider is much better in Velious than it was in Kunark. Tons and tons more targets to choose from so its much harder for the top guilds to keep EVERYTHING on lockdown like they did in Kunark. The previous "Class R" raid guilds are getting lots more raid targets than they used to. Hell Rampage doesn't even show up in VP most of the time unless PD is in window.

this dude is high.

you can get a full set of thurgadin armor with a group or less.

you can farm armor gems / velious spells for plat.

there are numerous amounts of quests for every faction that is 1 groupable or less.

tofs can be very rewarding dungeon experience with a group or less.

there wont be much poop socking on shawl quests.

PoM is soloable by some and alice3+ is definitely duoable

and then there are plenty of things to do with 2-3 groups that Class C guilds wouldn't do

This is great news! i have a 59 wizzy and a few other 55+'s I would love to break into velious with doing some fun grouping. I might give it a swing just to get back into the game a bit.
