![]() Please. If I see the zone is empty with /who all burning and then hammer and run over and you are there anon, it makes me sad. You don't need to anon or role. no one else is in the zone anyways most of the time.
I won't start pulling if you are already there, because I respect you and want you to be able to maximize your pulls. Respect me and turn off the anon and role please [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

![]() Anon/role hiding zone and class/level is one of the horrible blunders of EQ. Those features never should've been added. If I could change one thing about the mechanics of EQ it would definitely be to remove those commands allowing people to ignore everyone else in a social game they claim to love so dearly. Yet they can't be bothered to respond to a random port or buff or Rez request every hour or two.

![]() This drives me crazy when people are holding a camp in a low population zone (like Droga) and decide to go /role or /anon. I do a who and the zone is empty, show up ready to roll and there they are at the camp. It's even better when they don't respond to camp checks.
I don't understand the purpose, either. I'd rather people send me a tell when they /who to see if I'm camping something instead of showing up and being angry at me.

![]() Quote:
I always thought it was hilarious that some guilds were pretentious enough to demand people never anon because it hid guild tag. Used to get bitched out quite a lot for that. I remember not apping a couple of guilds when I was raiding on live specifically because they took the time to state on their guild rules you could not anon at any time for any reason. It's a small thing, but it's ridiculously controlling and in my experience always means there's more (usually many more) horrible rules to follow. It's essentially saying 'we don't trust you and you're going to be micromanaged' and it's almost always played off as 'be proud of your guild tag' like other people actually give a shit. Europa are a good example of this on p99. Archeage did it well, it was perma-pvp so it never displayed who was in a zone at all, you didn't know if anyone was in the same zone as you unless they spoke in zonewide chat or you saw them. Good times. Still no way to hide loc from guildies though, even in that game. The above in mind, I can certainly understand how it's annoying to put time into traveling only to get somewhere and find one anon char monopolising the zone. It does suck for you when that happens, but it's a small price to pay for the facility /anon and /role provide to the people who utilize them.

![]() I don't mind /role /anon in normal circumstances... just asking bards in BW to stay visible to help other bards out. Anywhere else, /role it up all you want.
