I mean, I'll leave this here for all RnFs to judge. Am I evil? If I am, was I within the rules? If I was breaking any rules I'll apologize and eat crow. I'll be back on tomorrow to read feedback and eat shit if I have to.:

*Note... I sat in cave for about 5 minutes before even saying anything, they were just resting. The same 3 backwall mobs were up this entire time.*

You told the guy that if they're up for 14 minutes they're fair game, he said they had been up for five, then you immediately started killing them. Doesn't sound to me like you were within the rules that you yourself stated. In addition, the guy wasn't afk- you were talking to him- and made it clear that his situation was, he had buffed the guy who had the camp before him and needed some mana. You had no reason to believe he couldn't handle the camp, you had no reason to believe he wouldn't handle the camp, you didn't wait the amount of time that you yourself stated is the threshold for just coming in and taking it. Honestly, I don't see a single reason you were right here unless you're Swish and "the guy was BDA" is a cue to immediately do a 180 and start defending you.

Also if there were some rule against buffing the guy who had the camp before you, which to me is a weird thing to do and doesn't make much sense.

You know, this is actually very interesting. It made me think ^^ Initially, I thought Skots was a jackass, but after reading the rest of the story, it looks to me that he was just competing within the rules. I think that's the part that a lot of players have trouble understanding. Many view competition as aggression. The OP is an example of one such person. The thing is though, OP was playing within the rules that he preferred while ignoring the ones that he didn't prefer (specifically the one that allows for competition). Lap then showed himself to be a poor sport and an asshole. It's like the guy who refuses to shake hands after a game when he loses... But worse.

Skots, have you considered red? We have assholes too, but they are less prevalent and we have many more peeps with a fair view of competition ^^ Give it some thought ^^

Verdict:

OP = sore loser
Skotos = competitor

The double standard is amusing though. Reverse these roles and there would be a RnF lynch mob because BDA was "competing." Instead we have a BDA app being a good denizen of P99, buffing the guy leaving the camp after waiting patiently in line, and this necro tries to weasel in on the camp.

Yeah, I'll grant you that. I never much understood the BDA vitriol. Not sure where I fell on the BDA POM RNF, but today's issue was interesting because it made a light bulb go on. The problem is that not everyone wants to compete (talking individuals, not guilds), but the rules allow for it in part, but with a woefully ambiguous mechanism of resolve.

The more I think about it, staff ought to get out of the business of mediating camps all together and only step in on cases is KS (kills w/o having FTE). Or, implement non-classic instancimg of everything. Embrace competition or abandon it outright ^^
