![]() Howdy,
Practically brand new EQ player here. I played about 14 years ago for like 5 hours or so and gave up. Didn't like the pace of play compared to the games I was used to. Anyhow, I recently wanted to give EQ another shot now that I have more patience and wanted an old school feel. Needless to say, P1999 is fantastic. I like it a lot. I started a shaman and got him to 14, but I grew super bored with BB and killing bandits in Karana. So I tried to run to a more popular area, which involved running through Highpass. From reading on the wiki, it seemed like it was hairy in the entrance but that once you were able to get past, it would open up. I thought SoW would save me. Boy, I was wrong. I made it only to the Mucktail spawn before getting iced. I've put my corpse in some precarious positions before, but there is literally zero chance I'll be able to recover that. So, what do I now? Do I just beg random high levels to help me until the corpse decays? I was enjoying that character, ha!

![]() If you can get close enough to your corpse without agroing the gnolls, you can use /corpse to pull it to you. The range is about 50 feet.
The other option is find a friend who can invis you or buy a Cloudy Potion. If you have any high level friends you can /consent them to drag your corpse to a safe place. The expensive option is buy a Jade Inlaid Coffin and get a level 37+ necro or 51+ SK to summon your corpse. Final option is petition.

![]() Asking a higher level person for help seems to be the best choice. Preferably someone who can cast invis/cammo. No corpse is un-retrievable. I would be happy to help on my 35 druid, but I won't be able to play until this evening. Just /who all Wootster, and I should be on some time this evening. Don't have to wait around on me though, just hang out by the zone line and ask passers by in the meantime, or maybe just make an alternate character to pass the time until you can find help.

![]() I can help in about 6 hours if you have not recovered by then. I think gnolls are closer to EK zone if that helps. Keep us in the know!

![]() Thanks for the good advice! I was on my way to acquire an Invis potion and give it a go myself when Tenlaar was able to help me out big time.
People seem to be exceptionally friendly here. Glad to be here!

![]() One other option I forgot to mention:
Create a level 1 Halfling Rogue. Log on to your shaman and /consent (rogue's name). Log on to your rogue. Use Hide/Sneak to go into Highpass and fetch the corpse to a safe place.
