EverQuest Classic Player Vs. Player

What is EverQuest pvp like? I had a cousin who played on Sullon back in the day and said he loved it, I don't know what the rule setting is like here but I would be interested if it were deity based teams. Free for all might be fun as well. It could be worth a shot regardless having never tried everquest pvp. All I remember of EQ pvp was watching the class all server fights to see which was best out of all the servers.
