I was feeling nostalgic, so I tried Live. It was awful and nothing like the EQ I remembered. I went to write a bad review on steam, and saw someone else's review that mentioned P99.

Had been playing an excellent Linux-native MMO called Eternal Lands. For the kind of scale it was being built on, it had a great immersing feel and all the grind you could hope for.

As I started to reach the end-game there, I sort of ran out of things to explore. I would rant in my guildchat about the wild uncharted expanses of Norrath, and eventually found EQEmulator.com while browsing for some free-to-play.

I did [PEQ] The Grand Creation at first, but saw P99 had a much higher player count. I started on Blue and leveled two characters to mid 40's over eight months or so but got disenchanted by what I understood to be an overpopulated end-game with all sorts of schedules and rules.

Then I rolled Red. I have never looked back. Thank you Nilbog!
