Anybody can be taught to properly raid and I think most guilds understand that. Attendance is a major issue for most of the power guilds so as long as your committed to being available when they need you and show up on a regular basis most guilds will put in the time to get you up to speed and geared up. Although its not entirely necessary to be fully geared to fight boss mobs.
