I went back onto EQ Live to test out my theory. And yeah, the Excellent Siren Scales are a lot more common. Only a few hours did I spend there, and Siren Scales galore.

Confirmed that Excellent Siren Scales do indeed drop off of every type of Siren in the zone, not just the enticer's. I have a feeling that the Project 1999 database is based on the info on Allakazam, which has always been incorrect. (Note though that Excellent Siren Scales are more common on siren enticer's)

The really big difference I noticed though is the spawn rate of the Siren Enticers, which drop the Excellent Siren Scales much more often. Now there are 3 different types of sirens that can spawn in Cobalt Scar.

On EQ Live - a siren enticer is the common placeholder, a siren seductress and a siren enchantress are the uncommon spawn.

On Project 1999- a siren enchantress is the common spawn, a siren seductress is the slightly less common spawn, and a siren enticer is the rare spawn.

It's not just slightly off, the different spawn rates for the different sirens is huge between the two servers. The much larger spawn rate for siren enticer's is most likely what contributes to the much higher drop rate of Excellent Siren Scales

Now I know these tests are on the current version of the game, and not EQ from 13 years ago. But I'm pretty sure that they didn't change the siren spawn type's in Cobalt Scar in all this time. The classic comments on Allakazam would back up this theory.
