Those downplaying the FA/Ramp battle in TOV simply don't know.

Kharizzar's epic pet FTE's. Rampage autofiring on spawn points. The switch to coth maging. Mage placement wars. FA figuring out Vulak ledge & Koi pond, and Rampage just besides themselves convinced we were cheating. The infamous repop & Gharns debacle. The worst raid suspension call ever made. The sleeper awakening. Intensifying coth maging. FA slapping Awakened so hard in coth maging that mid-cycle they switched from 2 mages per wing to 2 mages per target (openly defying the player agreement - which went completely unpunished). Taking coth mage placement to the most extreme. Lull pull wars. The change to runups for Kael. The completely moronic decision to change to run ups for TOV. Some of the most epic races you've never seen or heard of if you aren't in one of the 3 guilds mentioned. Fifield's 5 FTEs in one night, including a naked Aaryonar FTE. Mani evolving Dozekar into bard/ranger only FTE. Deep NTOV racing turning into TEAM racing instead of individuals.

Those that quit the game and now just forum quest... Either play the game, or don't. But legends are made every week. We didn't get any less hardcore. We just can't brag about it in RNF because every week we figure out a tweak to a strat that gives a hair of an advantage, and the competition is fierce enough that we will not be giving it away just to be popular in your forum questing world.

And this is why Taken wouldn't be getting anything. Its not that their average player is unable to do ToV stuff. It's not even tracking (although you guys did have issues with that for such a big guild). They just didn't have what Ramp and Forsaken/Asgard had, a bunch of players that played this game competitively for years. That's what they would have been up against. What made Asgard different than a lot of casual guilds, is they had a few people like that running the show.

Now that Taken has been raiding with old Rampage members for quite awhile, they aren't the same guild and the players have changed as well.

Honestly I could say the same thing about TMO/Forsaken/Aftermath, All their big dick play makers quit during Kunark, It's strange but when TMO's good FTE'ers quit it made the game a lot less fun for me being in IB/Rampage.

Yep, this is EXACTLY how I felt when Rampage left. I was pissed when the sleeper woke up but not so much because of ST becoming a nothing zone, more because it was like "Hey! Where are you guys going!?"

We didn't like eachother but the game was at its best (for me) during the Ramp v. F/A with all of the tactic escalation. Every week one side was coming up with new ways to FTE a mob that the other side didn't even realize they never had a chance on because the new tactic was so much better than the old one.

Awakened has some great playmakers too and the competition is great - but it was at it's best when the ST race was a big part of the rest of the targets.

Klandi and Sont are useless these days.

Zlandi is a guild bank target.

LTK has ok loot but used to be a much higher priority for the key.

Yelinak still has his head, but the key isn't as big of a deal.

All 5 of those mobs used to be big kills every week.

I don't see the appeal of sacrificing months of sleep for BIS. Or really what the BIS appeal is even. You get marginally more effective at doing what you've already did to do it more. That way lies insanity. Gnome mask couldn't not be fun though.

I haven't been on a batphone in about 2 years of raiding, maybe more. If I'm around and wanna play EQ, I'll raid. If not, I'm doing other shit and don't care. Everyone labels A/A as 100% unemployed neckbeards when it couldn't be further from the truth. Sure, both guilds have a contingent of hardcore people, but most rosters are mainly made up of people with healthy lives that are able to balance top end p99 and RL easily.

Literally every guild in every mmo that has ever existed has consisted of a small group of hardcore neckbeards doing 90% of the work and a bunch of filler warmbodies. Not a new concept nothing to see here.

This will sound super crazy, but I value my Crown of Rile way higher than I do my Gnome mask. Crown of Rile, and Robe of Azure Sky to me were the biggest items in the game when I started seriously raiding on P99. Gnome mask is neat, and it's nice to have 1 of 6 (of which probably only 3-4 are active now), but for whatever reason it just isn't the same.

Tunare dagger was cooler until the casuals started getting them.
