A fresh server would make for completely different gameplay imo. It would be MUCH harder to level without being able to buy gear. I remember first starting out on EQ release in 1999 and being so happy when I managed to get 1 piece of banded. The game has gotten a lot easier with a saturated market of high-end items. Starting fresh would cut everything back to the stone age where people are trying to level half-naked using rusty weapons. I think it would be fun to go back to hardcore mode...

I didn't know about the original P1999 release until several years afterwards, so I too feel like I missed out on the "hardcore" EQ classic experience. While I would love to do it I worry about what releasing another server would do to the blue population. I think the server population is pretty healthy where it's at averaging around 1k players and I don't think I'd want to risk further fragmenting that with a fresh server.

People would continue playing on both simultaneously, plus the green server would dump back into blue at end of timeline anyway
