Caster twink weapon?

I started on p99 recently so I don't have a ton of cash and I'm planning to start as a necro once Kunark is live. Looking for something with a proc or click effect or just good ratio that will help give me a boost through the lower levels. Any recommendations?

If you need a proc, one of these:

Fire Crystal Staff
Ice Crystal Staff

Also I used a staff of writhing in the beginning and it allowed me to one or two shot most level 1-3 mobs.

Frankly though, as a necro I wouldn't worry too much about it. You would probably level out of the early melee levels in the time it would take you to find a weapon.

I stopped melee-ing at 8 as a necro. Your pet and spells simply become too powerful to bother.

Extun's suggestions are great, too - if you simply must melee beyond then, a Jambiya is actually a really good caster twink item. My chanter was doing decent melee damage up to 16 with it...ratio is only slightly worse than a staff of writhing.

Stilleto of the Blood Claw, the only caster than can use that is a necro and it has a nice proc, not proc'ed till 18 tho...i got plenty of use out of mine
