Default New Gnome Mage

Hey P99ple (people), still pretty new to the server. Had a few toons before last year and the year before but never got over level 9 (Had an iksar warrior and troll shammy before)

Made a Gnome Mage last week. So far I am level 13 and enjoying this class as my personal favorite of the ones I have tried.

Always looking for people to group with so feel free to send me a tell ingame @ Veldstadt. Usually on at night before 12 midnight PST.

Currently I am camping the bandit sisters in Lfay every night until I hit 16 or if I find a better spot. This one is pretty good for plat already got up to about 300 so far which should but materials for my pet booster item quests.

Anyways feel free to comment look forward to seeing you guys ingame

Welcome!
Mages are super awesome. Most old school players on this server have or have had a magician. They are a fantastic starting class. When it comes to making fast plat I play mage over all other. 100% 10 slot weight reduction bags are the shiznit even if they're temp.
Plus mages are good in raids but no one will tell you that. If played correctly. Pet's can be finicky. Learn the target hotkeys.

Look up some mage hotkeys,. like /pet back /pet guard
or
to attack a new enemy to get more agro on your pet.
/pause #, /pet back
/pet attack
saves my mages life,. and I chain summon.then I keep spaming those two hotkeys till the agro is on my pet.

Great to hear that mages are actually good in endgame too. I plan to make a melee to on later.. maybe a pally but definitely want to make a bunch of play first to gear it up nicely. So far so good!!

Thanks for the hot key tips I'll try those out later tonight you sound like you know know your stuff!!!

Definately try to get focus items (at least one, torch is nice for solo). All the components can be bought from players usually, some are easily camped. Makes a big difference for your pets.

Yah pet focis are really what u want to go for. Makes pets lot tougher which obviously make the long run well less long/ painful. Can hit me up Ingame sometime on Retllon. I like helping out gnome mages like myself so [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I am not regretting picking Mage so far. Really fun and powerful class for soloing and groups don't seem to be hard to come by either.

Thanks to retllon for hooking me up with a robe yesterday that was awesome man!!

My next step is to use this plat I've saved to get a shovel and then the other focus items. Might even get the water pet focus first but want to see about the shovel because earth pet could really be helpful I've heard.

Also does gear really matter for mages a ton?

Playing a mage sucks. Nothing ever drops for you on raids and they expect you to summon shit between every kill on raids. You will build up DKP for months (since nothing drops that you can use) and then when an item finally drops you can use you put in a max DKP bid and the item is awarded to officers anyways like they do in Azure Guard.

Don't listen to Lonmoer. Mage as you can already tell rocks. Armor drops etc drop on raids. Depending on guild can go dkp or not.

So far I love mage. Not even concerned at all about raid-game anyways. Even if it does such which I doubt!

Already hit level 18 and not stopping haha
