This is probably super obnoxious, but back in the day I had my mage newbie twink camped nearby, a robe dropped and I logged him in for it. I never thought anything of it until now! Apparently I got super lucky, lol. Best of luck!

But the whole point is to use it on a non-robe wearing character!
