I was working on an idea for a Technomancer type class that has two summons, one as a weak warrior that can tank and one as a much weaker Shaman that only casts weak buffs on the summoner and the summoners party, like a "repair clockwork" that can also cast weak heals too. Basically a support summon. Both would have to be managed or they'd break down/fade with oil or random parts instead of bone chips like the Necromancer.

I had an idea for a playable clockwork race, too, but it didn't pan out. Anything that seems too "custom" is a turn off.

Is this Anarchy Online?

Faeries, with a home city of Lesser Faydark, is how I'd do it.

They'd basically just be smaller Ogres without frontal stun immunity, but at the same time I guess an Evil playable race of their size should be in the game. Crushbone area would need to be expanded for sure, plus adding in the Hills of Shade as their newbie zone.
Yeah, but I feel like anything that requires actual custom content would never be accepted and would probably be crappy.

Adding simply a race and only a race is more like a texture change - allowing a new race with better stats that makes another race useless is also really stupid.

For example, if we add a high str/stam race like Orc without frontal stun immunity like Ogre, what's the point of the Orc? Even if it's the smaller and more maneuverable evil tank race, there would be very little point to play it.

This is why Chetari struck me as pretty much perfect. Also, any races that can start where races already have starter zones work the best.

Centaur is probably just too powerful, it would invalidate Barbarian.

Hehe they won't even allow gnome SKs / Paladins (who come a couple months after the server timeline stops)....the chances of custom races and things is like negative 49 percent :P That's right! Negative! They might delete an existing race just for askin!

A lot of people dislike playing Ogre because of how jarring the size is. Orc also wouldn't have exp penalty like Ogre does. Race is more about flavor anyway - there's no "point" in playing a Human, they are inferior at literally everything except maybe Ranger, yet many people still do it.

Nah, if they are giving up leg and foot equip in return for speed boost, that means they are inferior tanks.
