Steel boning

Small brick of ore, water flask and file in forge, tells me these items can't be combined in this container type, but that should be the recipe for steel boning. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Forges here act up at times despite using the correct ingredients for a particular recipe. I have had that happen with regular forges in Halas, South Qeynos, all three Freeport zones, and both Kaladim zones, and also with both of the human cultural forges. Zone out, zone back, then try again, generally serves to fix the problem, whatever it is.

I thought you had to make metal bits first. Could be wrong.

I just made steel bonings last night in the Neriak Commons forge, using the same recipe you listed. It worked fine for me, so at least we can know that the recipe is correct.
