it's not enforced because the server is staffed with volunteers who have better things to do than trying to keep someone down who is determined to name themselves some variant of "Dankest Bongrips" or whatever.
not a huge fan of it either but in the end it's small potatoes. it isn't something I'd pay money to fix, so that's that.

today i hopped off the boat in BBM. the sea air salted my beard. I heard the butcherblock gulls from afar. then, Cherrykush the level 3 high elf chanter in a noobie robe ran past, shattering my immersion. i immediately petitioned the name and told the player, who didn't know what petitioning was and claimed to be newb. but i know you, cherrykush. you are NOT innnocent. and you will be punished for your micro aggressions.
