P99, while close, isn't exactly the same as classic either. I mean, it doesn't really matter imo, but it sounds like people are picking and choosing what counts and doesn't count. I mean, if DA wants to claim that they were the first ever in EQ history to kill OoA pre-kunark, more power to them - I'm simply pointing out that to get to that point you really have to put a lot of restrictions on what counts and what doesn't.

I thought that coterie nocturne (CT server) cleared sky like a week before kunark came out originally?

disclaimer: while I played on CT I wasn't anywhere near raid levels at that point so I'd have heard about it through forum shit or 2nd hand talk anyway, and that was 10+ years ago so I may be misremembering.

I spent 10 minutes checking out archive.org to try and confirm this/find CN's homepage and found nothing then got bored, so take it for what it's worth.

I totally agree Loke, it really doesn't matter to me personally who does what first here. I'm just on the server for my own amusement and nostalgia. But it would still be nice to put this question to rest.

@ Yaaaflow,
I have also heard something similar, and probably with a couple different guild/server names mentioned in that same first sentence. You would think something this major would have been better documented...

/shrug, we may never know for certain.

Lastly, grats to all that have made it on to the server first list.

I doubt anyone did it on Live because there simply wasnt a guild of players who either mass-stormed eye with pets or tried to DA tank everything down. While both are viable tactics here, I can't recall anyone really using those 2 strats in a raiding enviroment a year after EQ was released...

If it was, I bet DA tanking would of been nerfed before Veilous as well as a change in pet dynamic.

p99 Is basically 10 years worth of experience, knowledge, and guides rolled into one. There isnt anything unknown or untested.

same reason why VS will be dead by April and Trak by April 10th.

Is it because we/they are super strategists? No.

Because we "zerged" it? Maybe.

Because we know exactly where to position and how to kill things due to 10 years worth of other guild's efforts? Clearly.

This is the direct quote taken from the DA website at the time of posting. I purposely copy/pasted their verbiage for the purposes of teh lulz.

Did I misread your post?
..
By you saying 'no' are you not saying "not true"? So yeah, I was wondering how and why. On top of it, I was wondering why the claim was disputed without factual evidence.
Reasons for adding teh lulz:
#1.) Basically, they claimed on their website that they were the first people to ever kill OoA, and this was not qualified by saying "in classic EQ."
#2.) This is p99; this is NOT Everquest. This is emulated Everquest, which no amount of pretending by us can ever make it actual Everquest. Things happened on this server to make killing mobs different (some would say easier). The mechanics of killing mobs are different (some would say easier). Group and player functions are more well known at this point, and testing for the aforementioned differences is much simpler with todays technology, making how people go about killing mobs different (some would say easier). THEREFORE, comparing any group on p99 to any group on Everquest ridiculous at best, and in this case - laden with hubris. Chutzpah.

Reasons you are silly:
#1.) If any burden of proof is to be placed, it is certainly not on me, but on someone making a claim. I do my best to verify the information on this post, but you're basically asking me to prove every claim here wrong. Get lost.
#2.) There is not reason #2, I just like making numbered lists.
