Post Trainer question

As a fresh untwinked monk, does anyone have recommendations for practice points? Does it really matter?

I think I remember back in the day just putting like 1 skill point in each new skill to unlock it and then it didn't matter much? it's been so long

EDIT: Another example: do I have to have a point in sense heading for the skill to level as I spam the button?

Right now I'm leaning towards dumping points into Hand-to-Hand

Sorry if this is a noobie question <3

I believe at level 1 you want to train dual wield, hand to hand, one hand blunt and dodge.

I suggest reading one of the monk guides on the wiki.

Always put a point in sense heading, 0-1 is harder than 1-200 I swear [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also you can make a macro to spam sense heading every time you use a skill.

So

/doability 1 (if you set that to kick or whatever monk skill)
/doability 2 (if you set that to sense heading)

alt+M for the abilities menu, think its the first tab across.

Thanks - I suppose you can train them all up later right? You just need to put one point to learn a skill initially?

Ah, that's what I was thinking. I was sitting here SPAMING sense heading and not leveling it up from 0-1.

Yeah, really the points you put into skills at the GMs are mainly to actually learn the ability, using it during combat and etc. will skill it up so it's not terribly important what skills you train as long as you put at least a point in to obtain the ability.

All of the basic Melee skills will max out no problem so I would not worry about them. As previous posters mentioned make sure you get at least 1 point in those you have to train once to start skilling up. Once you've done that I would dump the rest into mend as you level. It is terrible at low skill to the point you almost don't want to use it because it damages you so often. You are also leveling so fast early on that it will fall way behind. Practicing it should be a big help.

Agree on mend, if you really dont want to spend at least 40-50 points on it I'd consider sitting at a bank or somewhere and afk'ing to watch a movie or do something else while the points slowly creep up.

Just put sense heading on a single slot on a hot bar and bind that slot to A and D (turn keys). You'll hit those keys more than any other and it updates your direction while running without any additional key clicks
