Technically, shouldn't people be called "sock poopers" rather than "poop sockers"?

It wasn't p99 but it definitely has had wide spread use on p99.

Closest I ever came to poop socking wasn't in an MMO but nazi zombies mode in call of duty: black ops. Me and my brother played for 14 hours straight and were on level 66 (no one had made it past 70 yet).

You can't pause it, so I ran into the bathroom and shat with the door open while playing. Risky since my roommate was due home at any moment. Wiping proved difficult, had to get to the teleporter safe room for 30 secs of safety, wiped fast as if the plane was going down.

Game was intense!
