I have the paid version of Avast. I went into setting, general and scrolled down to "exclusions". Put "C:\Everquest*" in it and I'm good to go, without turning it off.

Yes, it worked for me as well.
I was meaning to get back here and post that the second error was not caused by the anticheat code and any AV. It was because I had replaced a larger WS monitor with a smaller one. In the ini I had set reso at 1920 and full screen. The older/smaller monitor caused p99 to try and open in a windowed setting(I assume) causing a crash.
