I get strange lag from time to time. But these new pop ups since NN have been loading with the speed of light. Seems like the NN policy change was accompanied by an advertising blitz.

Advertising will die with Gen X IMO....people will no longer take it seriously enough to justify spending money on it. Advertising as we know it that is. Where it is 100% dishonest bullshit with annoying flashes and whistles.

Wow, you are so incredibly wrong. What is dying is blanket advertisement without segmented targeting. People like getting ads that are actually relevant to them
Good ads are fun. So while TV slots, radio ads, and billboards are growing less efficient, targeted ads executed properly are seeing stunning ROI.

Superbowl style will be the nostalgoc pinacle, but sanctioned data targeted advertising is what'll be the future.

Well I meant to respond sooner -- but most of what you said can be considered correct so there was little pay off. You see I quantified my entire assertion with "as we know it" -- so I can backtrack the fuck out of this.

But I'm not going to. Because the fact is Millennials really hate advertising.

Tarkoff said the implications of the study are twofold: Advertisers need to change their method of doing business and social media firms that rely on advertising dollars may want to help brands figure out ways to engage consumers more “organically,” such as through peer spokespeople and conversations.

“I go on social media to see and know what my friends are doing. I don’t want to see ads clutter my news feed. If I’m interested in a product or service, I know where to look,” 23-year-old Mallory Benham, who participated in the poll, said in a statement. “Social media is a place for us to connect with our friends, not be attacked by advertisements.
So I guess we have to get rid of this one-way conversation filled with empty promises format....or maybe we can just bullshit each other with statements like Skarlorn's and pretend all that we need to find out the right segmentation...

I'll tell you one thing -- my segmentation sucks. I put on a Metallica video on youtube this morning. Whats the ad? Some black family proud themselves for investing. Nice, smiling, good-looking black people sitting down for dinner...OK...WTF would I get this ad as a single white male socialist?

Segmentation sounds better in theory than reality. These disparate companies with imperfect information will have a difficult time segmenting properly. You need a good image of who a person is to determine what kind of add they respond to.

The only one that ever really got me is the Fleshlight company when I was younger. I heard about them and knew they helped with sensitivity. And then I saw a pop up that advertised a sale they were having. So I googled the website (make sure the pop up wasn't a scam) and ordered some sex toys....so I know its possible for segmentation to work if they get you when you are looking to buy anyway.

By the way -- why are people so fucking noisy about your packages and what they are?

You make some good points in your post, but most of it boils down to talking about ineffective marketing strategy (segmentation better in theory than in reality)

It's not hard to figure out the demographic and associated interests of an audience. Well, I guess it is and that's why I have a great job.

I could explain the fairly straightforward, if analysis intensive method used to mine data from an existing user base, but I will not, and I will continue instead making money through marketing and advertising and you can continue thinking advertising will die.

lmao
