Unresistable AoE pacify without target LoS requirements!

I boxed ranger/shaman for a while on live. GD and Velks were pretty much the only zones i touched in Velious (until my warrior was able to solo WW, then I just happily ran around there killing dragons). Ranger/shaman was okay combo. Then again, the camps I was duoing on live with shaman/ranger in velks it seems are fairly easy to just solo on ranger here (trash spiders, ce, frenzied; that kinda stuff).

That said, you do end up with some redundancy in the synergies (ranger chloro not so useful, earthcaller slow obviously of reduced use, cloak of the dark sky not as needed).

Warrior in velious isn’t bad actually, probably less than other melees. Thurgadin armor is super cheap to MQ, and unlike most classes it’s actually good in the majority of slots (helm, BP, legs, arms are all solid), silver steel gauntlets easy to get, 21% sky haste belt that rots all the time, fantastic weapons that cost less than 5k a piece (Frostbringer for instance), ice forged shackles etc.

There’s so many easy to get no drops out there that are actually great. You could say that they cost a lot in the haste department, but really so do most melee classes, and in the meantime they have one of the few 21% common drop sky belts

I think rangers are underrated if you duo outside. Pacify is powerful for single pulling.
I was largely interested in Ranger for the utility factor and their aesthetic was more my style. Thought it would be cool to have some spells rather than be completely melee. I also enjoy that there aren't as many of them running around.

People seem to put them down a lot I've noticed. Any reason why? Are they wildly under powered or something?

Well that's neat but for a new player and/or a newly created character that's just not realistic for quite a while.

I can sow, haste, snare, root, slow, lev, shrink, invis, heal, and triple attack. All I am missing is track and my warrior is a ranger too. People who think warrioring is just standing in front of the mob with auto attack on have never played a warrior correctly and have never grouped with a good warrior.
This all sounds pretty great but I have no idea how to do any of it on a warrior. I'm all for learning the class properly though so any tips are appreciated.

This succinctly sums up how click items effectively break class balance in this game. It is what it is though, so use it and abuse it.

Main thing the Warrior-based duo has problems with is pulling, and in the long run the Ranger will have problems with that as well because Harmony doesn't work indoors. I agree with Naethyn here; for folks who want to level up then raid, Warrior/Shaman serves well. The Ranger comes with the problem of being a Ranger in a game where much of the community refuses to take the class seriously. The Ranger can do a fine job, but it gets tiring, eventually, having to constantly prove oneself while everyone assumes the Warriors' fine from the get-go.

Warrior + Shaman will keep you guys very busy for a long, long time here on P99.

Excellent choice, will level wonderfully...and you're a great start to any group.

Find an enchanter friend for icing on the cake.

SoW: Veeshan's Peak key so you can loot a Blood Orchid Katana (or sow pots?) Pots are self only so I assume he means the sword.

Haste: Probably an Eyepatch of Plunder, which will require looting a map piece from Lodizal and another from the highly contested Stormfeather camp.

Snare: Another Veeshan's Peak weapon? Not sure.

Root: 2hs from Tunare? Root nets more realistic obviously

Slow: Willsapper (7 day spawn?) Trident of the Deep sea? Not positive if that one slows. Just gotta loot it from North Temple of Veeshan. Truncheon of Doom is tradeable.

Levitate: Levi cloak from Quillmane in South Karana. Not too bad here.

Shrink: Cobalt Bracer (20kish) or potions

Invis: Cobalt legs (50K+) or Incarnadine BP which is maybe 8-10k? Ring of Shadows is a cheap way to have invis just gotta keep a few on you.

Heal: Cobalt or Velious class armor quest breastplate.

Triple attack: Level 60

You'll also probably have to be level 60 with hundreds of hours of raiding in a top guild to acquire several of these items.
