I included the north spot to demonstrate what the other two spots mean.
In all the spots you're starting at the south end of the blue line and move north if they flee. the end of the north blue line being the maximum flee range they can go.

You're right about them being hard to contain. The challenge level goes up in the other two spots but it should be do-able.

Some advice that also works for enchanters...
Charm the pet
Let it beat on the target
When one of them get's low life break charm and mez both
Kill the lowest hp one
recharm the one with more hp.
repeat at let it beat...

This is referred to as reverse charming. Because you're not charming the biggest baddest pet, you're charming the winner of the fight regardless if it's your original pet or not.
You're letting the mobs work for you.
