Default Tailoring 158+

Is there a way to level tailoring beyond 158 instead of making Fleeting Quivers?

I read somewhere that Forest Green Silk Swatch 150 - 190 is the way to go, to get to 190 skill. Although, I haven't had any luck finding the required evergreen leaf in Greater Faydark, is it included in P99? Almarsguides, has posted several "spawn" points for this elusive Leaf, but between a druid and a bard scouring the earth, neither of us have had any luck. [You must be logged in to view images. Forest Green Silk Swatch doesn't sound classic. That being said, evergreen leaves can be found in the newbie area near the ravine, usually beside trees in my experience. They are lime-green, diamond-shaped flecks and aren't easy to see from afar.

Evergreen leaf is exactly what I'm looking for. My bad... I was hurrying to get my question posted :P

Ennewi... You mentioned the ravine.... are you referring to the newbie area in Greater Fay?

Aye, what leaves I've found have been around trees between #2 and #6 on the Greater Faydark map. Not sure how long it takes for them as ground spawns to reappear, but iirc there are approx 3-4 in that area.

Not sure about the forest green silk swatch, but it sounds like it might be something that's not classic. EDIT: Yeah it is wayyy out of era, and will never exist on P99: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=62091. You really want to avoid using normal EQ sites, because they're full of stuff that was released after Velious, and thus will never get added here. Instead you should stick to the wiki exclusively, and rely on pages like http://wiki.project1999.com/Tailoring.

As for your question, what race are you? I think Halflings and Wood Elves have cultural that makes it much easier to level tailoring, but if you're not one of those races ... better start farming those HQ Cat Pelts [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

And what's he going to do with those HQ Cat Pelts? Tailored Quivers that max at 115 or Reinforced Armor that maxes at 108?

If you're talking about HQ Lion skins, that's a waste of your time. Velious tradeskills will get you skilled up far faster.
Er yeah, HQ lion skin not cat, for http://wiki.project1999.com/Fleeting_Quiver. And yes, Velious tailoring is totally also an option, and depending on the specific recipe you use it may be easier/cheaper than the quivers. Then again, depending on which recipe you do, any successful quivers you make might sell for more than a given piece of Velious tailored armor.

For instance, even a tunic made from Black Pantherskin armor will sell for less than a fleeting quiver, despite the fact that the tunic will require 4 velium bonings ... but if you manage to complete even a single Icewurm Silk Sleeves you can sell it for more than five fleeting quivers worth of plat.

I have multiple characters over 158 tailoring. The best bet is to do some velious tailoring combines. It's a pain and if you're working on Coldain Shawl 158-164 will seem like forever but you'll eventually get there. Good luck.

That being said, until Luclin drops Tailoring is largely useless. The Velious furs and silks are okay but with 2 years of Velious most people are running around in HoT armor. You would sink far less money into buying the set(s) you're interested in than you would skipping up to make them yourself.
Take a step back from the min-max or total profit margin aspect of it. I like just maxing out tradeskills for fun. Like the idea of being a renaissance man.
