this right here, crystallized, is the debate over whether anime is or is not bad. let me explain.
I like this anime called Elfen Lied from 2004. I think it is relatively unpalatable to a Western normie. The plotting isn't particularly interesting (mutant girls with special powers who kill everyone! the government keeps them a secret and hunts them! and every character's a trope). The drawing isn't particularly "pretty" (example character art below).

The show's real asset is a persistent VERY lurid undercurrent of sexual violence. The first 5 or 6 episodes are pretty much a series of excuses to witness implicit or explicit sexual violence against female minors. Girls grown in lab, always naked, call researchers whose science means torturing them all day Daddy & sob for their approval, etc. Alpha villain character punches women in the face and gives them bloody noses, rendered very graphically. It's so over the top sadistic that it's hard for me to find hot except in little chunks, altho I'm sure there are plenty of 14yo boys who manage to fit it into their cummies.
anyway even though it's sorta obtuse in every aspect except for how thoughtfully & creatively disgusting it is, the show manages to be TOUCHING & emotional thx to the juxtaposition of this heavyhanded rapey stuff against standard Kawaii tropes. It's a show that capitalizes significantly on child sexual violence and it has brought me to well up more than once.
it's PULP. like my posts. the beauty of my EverQuest posting is the beauty of sexualized anime. you might call it no more than edgelording, but theres a hole world of color in between the blunt blacks & whites i paint my shitposts with which connoisseurs find great pleasure in. in it there is no hate or disease in it w/ which i am poisoning "the children". try and squint your eyes a little and SEE what sexualized Anime is all about.
