Complete EQ noob - Questions about Clerics, grouping

* Yes, you can sit and med while in combat. You also get hit harder while sitting. You also draw more aggro.

* Yes, you regen more health and mana while sitting.

* Yep, 6 seconds.

* As long as your character is sitting on the 6th second, you will gain the regen.

* Generally a Cleric stays sitting and only stands up to cast a spell, and then they sit back down. Shamans use a 'Cannibalize' spell which causes them to monitor mana ticks, etc. But most people (aside from Shamans) don't do this. Druids and Wizards sort of weave in mana ticks while kiting their mobs during quad-kiting, but again, it's situational. Most casters med as much as they can and only stand when casting a spell.
