Default Introduction and need a little help.

Hi guys, Old school EQ player here new to Project1999. I decided to come check it out because I've been chasing that first hit of Evercrack for close to 20 years and no other MMORPG has come close to my OG EQ experience, I might just play on the EQ live servers even though it still isn't quite the same it might get by as being "same enough" if not for one single thing. The goddamned boxer infestation that Daybreak just lets slide as long as they pay their bills. It totally compromises the integrity of what the game was meant to be and I just can't stand to see it.

I am having a problem though, the game will only run in a window and my taskbar stays on the bottom of the screen no matter what I do and it's cutting off some of the UI that I need to use. I went into the in-game options and tweaked all the settings appropriately, so I'm running in the correct resolution etc. but when I toggle windowed or fullscreen the screen flashes briefly as though it thinks it's changed but nothing actually does, it always remains running in a window and not even a full screen window, the borders are still there on top and also as I mentioned my taskbar constantly displays on the bottom of the screen. How can I fix this please?

Yo welcome here
I suggest running EQ through WinEQ - its a legit and free program to use, that will fix your window mode.

If not You could click your taskbar and in Preferences turn on "auto hide taskbar" (my windows is in norwegian but i think it should be something like that)

Ya I'm using WinEQ but for some reason it will only run in a window still.

I checked the tech stickys and have tried all the solutions I saw suggested.

I edited the eq.ini file, I've tried running only one monitor instead of dual.

I changed some settings in WInEQ that got rid of the taskbar issue though so that was the main thing that pretty much made the game unplayable.

The window is fulls creen now more or less so I can play the game with the display unobstructed and arrange the window so I only see a little of the top and bottom borders so it's playable but still a minor annoyance I'd like to solve if I could.

Thanks for the suggestion.

One other thing someone might be able to help me with, I changed my movement controls to the more common WASD instead of the numpad as I'm sure probably a lot of people do and I find it easier to turn by R click+holding the mouse button but whenever I click the button if my cursor is anywhere near my character the inspection window will pop up. I haven't noticed anyway to change this in the control options and I'm wondering how I can hopefully turn off this function. If not I just moved the inspection window to a far corner of the screen so it doesn't get too much in the way. So it doesn't affect playing too much but again just another annoyance I'd like to get rid of if possible?

/inspect on or /inspect off to toggle the inspect.

Also google “EQ commands” and you can find a few lists of all available commands. Might even be a list on the wiki.

Yeah I play in windowed mode myself, not sure maybe just try good old Alt Enter for fullscreen?
As far as clogging the UI, you can remove the bard song buffs window as those songs go on the regular buff bar.
Also try out DuxaUI for a more hands-on UI.

Did you change your settings to a proper resolution?

Yeah, I tried Alt+Enter and it doesn't do anything when running through WinEQ, the screen blinks like it thinks it changed but actually doesn't.

I actually got it working another way so this might work for someone else. I found the Duxa's All in One installer tool here http://p99.yourfirefly.com/ & ran that so now if I run the game through the EQemu launcher shortcut it will run fullscreen.

However it seems there was an oversight by whoever wrote the installer program. When you select your choices and it asks you if you want windowed or full screen etc and which resolution. The choice for 1080p is written as 1900x1000 instead of 1920x1080. So initially if I tried to go full screen it would just crash the game. Once I realized the mistake I edited my eq.ini config file and changed all the values to 1920 x 1080 instead and now everything seems to work fine, I can Alt+Enter to toggle full screen and it works no problem. Like I said though I do have to start through the EQemu launcher though, if I start through WinEQ I still have the same issue with going full screen. From what I understand though the Duxa's Installer solves all the same issues that WinEQ does, is that right? If so then all should be good for me at this point.
