Druid is a great first choice, but you're likely to get it to 46 and shelf it as a porting-for-money character that will fund your 2nd (main) character.
It'll introduce you to a lot of game mechanics, travel is a breeze, etc. Pick your next character based on what you like about what you see going on in your groups. If you're dead set against druid, Necro / Rogue / Mage / Cleric are all great first classes as well as they need almost no gear to be effective. | ||
