Basically, Raev and friends want a political purge they can say is the 'deep state' like this is Stalin's USSR. Blame political murder on some fake shadow government to justify it.

It's easier to believe that, even though they control the Executive, Judicial, and half of the Legislature, there is some cabal running things outside of the control of the GOP. It couldn't be that they have no idea how to govern and have installed a mentally compromised con-man as their wanna-be dictator...
