How can a bard solo a summoning mob?

Ankle smasher probably works in western wastes, but not a dungeon. I need the Selos consonant slow.

I like the idea of backing off pet so that it eats a summon. I will probably have to die a few times to get it right.

As for the pet sit technique, bards charm up to lvl 51, and I think summoning mobs start at lvl 52, so I can't charm them.

And shield of song might eat the bash, but doesn't that only work if the bash comes before the double attack? If the double attack happens first, your shield is gone.

52+ you’re looking at fear kite or fight/mez/repeat only.

As others have stated, there are some helpful tricks to fear kiting, including snare proc and
Highsun.

For tank & spank, I found I could dot/DS things down surprisingly well with AE dot/slow, other AE string songs, with string instrument equipped of course, mana/healsong, and stack as many DS’s as I can in there as well, including SS bracer clicky, and DS pot if you’ve got the plat to blow. Then when you get below 50 or 40, mez and regenerate, and start over. It’s painful, but doable, as long as you can land mez on that mob.

Generally, 51s summon. Might be differences in Velious, but it's basically universal in kunark and classic. I'm still not sure runes blocking all of a bash will stop the interrupt effect though.

Runes do not stop you from getting bashed/ stunned

Yea I went and tested this runes will negated bash dmg but not interrupt the stun effect sorry for Mis info.

Update: I solo'ed the treasure chest outside the PoM castle at lvl 59 by using two dots and +160MR songs. He didn't summon at all. The only thing that landed on me was mana drain and Tash. I wouldn't recommend doing again because it takes me 1.5h to regen mana.

Also tried charming the skunks outside of the chest room. Yeah, you get summoned, but they don't hit hard. I think it's doable if you don't agro peachy.
