Getting a group is damn near impossible when I stay at this spot where there are obviously too many people for the number of mobs.
Fixed it for you.

Oh believe me, I've roamed. Bandits = taken. Every orc that pops = dead.
Run over to Steamfont = same deal with every kobold camp.
Butcher block = orc camps all taken. Chessboard has a list.

Please share your wisdom, oh wise one so I can stop being a "lazy fuck".

When are you playing? I've only investigated low level areas, but I can say pretty confidently that they are all camped pretty solid on Faydwer. Maybe its different on Antonica. I'm not sure where these "out of the way" places that people are ignoring are.

Qeynos area after you leave QH and WK is not that bad, mainly because the entire zones are roaming areas and not camps. South Karana for example has tons of open space to XP in if you really wanted to.

Head west young man! The elf lands are cursed and worthless. Feller like you needs open sky and rain, rain, rain, and some more rain! Hie off to the karanas where the bandits throw plat at you and even five bards can't keep the wisp populations down. it's the land of milk and honey.

And dirt. just like, endless rolling expanses of empty dirt. maddening voids of nothingness that make you pray for death as you jog for three hours between two zone lines, wondering if you are really in the game or have lagged out into some infinite plane of Karana-flavored pixels beyond hte bounds.

But really the money and XP is good, even if the environment might lead you to gibbering madness. But y'know you're playing a 20 year old game on a emu server, so that's probably not a problem.

Saw so many open things when I ran around Karanas and Lake Rathe....

Everyone just wants to be able to go into the same hub zone and get a group fast.

I feel for people since travel can be hard and there are no guarantees that a group is there. I know people will say #NotClassic but maybe global chat channels would have been a good compromise on this and reduced the necessity of a second server...

So should people not start on Faydwer? Seeing fucking gnomes and dwarves trying to kill level 3 frogloks outside of Grobb is absurd, not refreshing.

The whole newbie experience feels like a zombie movie, where Faydwer is outbreak and ground zero overrun with the undead (players) and the rest of the world is trying and failing to stave off the tide of the horde.

Rogean said they examined this kind of thing and determined there wasn't enough mobs. Is there insight on the mob density as GM's missing something here? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Couldn’t agree more. Everyone just wants to pack into the high ZEM zones and do the same leveling path as everyone does on Blue, and they’re annoyed the can’t because other people are there
