I know he has also a fixation that teal population are mostly alt of green. Doubt anybody will change his mind on that. I think best we should do is to move along.

Your math is off by embarrassing margins.

Teal gained 196 in that span.

Green lost 135, for a difference of 61. It seems entirely feasible that Teal has brought in 61 people who were turned off by how crowded Green was at launch, but more importantly, the total between the two servers has been hovering right at 2400 the entire time. The net increase since launch is 19 players, so at worst there might that many two-boxers.
Er what? Read the graph. On 11/5 Green was at 1,510. On 11/10, Green was at 1,428. 1,510 - 1,428 = 82 (and I said like 75 in my post).

On 11/5, Teal was at 837. On 11/10, Teal was at 1069. That's an increase of 232. So in that 5 day span Green decreased by 82 and Teal increased by 232 (so, if you assume that those 82 people switched to Teal, Teal had an increase of 150 allegedly unique, new players).

You might want to check your own math before you tell someone else their math is embarrassingly off lol

Talking to cd288 is a waste of time.

Earlier I was talking about the 2009 launch of p99 and the population level then. He replied telling me I was wrong, and quoting Brad McQuaid about population numbers from 1999. I kept repeatedly telling him I was talking about 2009, not 1999. He continued. I think he’s under the belief p99 was the start of Everquest and Brad McQuaid was in charge then. Or else he’s not good with reading comprehension. Either way, save your energy folks.
Oh man I misread a comment by accident! How could I ever do such a thing!

Yup. And then I deleted my last comment in the convo after I realized I had misunderstood your comment. Oh gosh such a terrible thing to have done!!!

It's funny that if we change the date we get totally different perspective. Prior to opening of teal green had around 2400 at prime time and if we look at yesterday prime time we have around 1400 on green and just over 1000 on teal so moving from November 2nd to November 5th and your perspective change totally. It reminds me that you can use numbers to mean almost anything. It reminds me of how politician manipulate public opinion lol.

We could easily pick the 4th and the 11th and say that Teal picked up fewer players than Green lost. To me the simplest way to read this seems to be that Green was at ~2400 when Teal launched, and now there's still 2400 players, just spread over two servers. I guess an argument could be made that maybe the two servers lost 10% (for arguments sake) of the unique user base over the past week, and hence of that 2400 total number now, 240 is due to boxing, but I'd need some sort of evidence for that that isn't purely anecdotal.

Edit: Spock beat me to it.

Nah, I chose 11/5 as the start date just because that's when things kind of generally leveled out following the initial 48 hour rush (plus, like I've said, immediately on split Green generally declined and Teal generally increased on a 1:1 basis so it's the days following that which are more relevant). As far as the end date in the rate I chose, I left out 11/11 since both servers declined on that day so the data for that day isn't really indicative of anything.

A peer reviewer somewhere is having a panic attack.

I didn't really find it relevant to the specific subject of whether new players on Teal are unique new players or if they are duplicates of Green players since both servers declined on the day (everyone has been arguing within the context of a Teal increase and Green decrease and that the Green decrease and Teal increase shows that people are switching from Green and not boxing on both, so it didn't seem relevant within the specific context of what people have been discussing). But if you'd like to offer why 11/11 should be included, I'm all ears.
