I played on Vallon Zek from late 1999 till 2 or 3 expansions after LDoN.

I stopped playing when they merged Tallon Zek with Vallon Zek because it was no longer fun when people started to try and exp pk you.

And I burned out of Red as well because of the douche bags that just wanted to piss you off, not have legitimate PvP.

Legitimate PvP where the primary goal is to kill someone using your own charachter's melee or spells to kill someone else, is incredibly fun, especially in EQ where it takes a time investment to give yourself that much more edge in PvP and it gives the grind more meaning when it makes you a more powerful PvPer. Having to exp because someone trained you several times, is not fun.

I'd love to play on red if people honestly wanted to PvP. Unfortunately, that's not what they want. What they want is jollies over fucking someone over as badly as they can because they're psychopaths.

EDIT: I was on Red, day 1 and leveled a tune. I also played Garage Box for the life of that server waiting for Red. I quit with everyone else when it was apparent that a few bad actors were not going to be censored.

Even just a single rule of "no intentional exp deaths," and the server would still be alive today. Those of you that get off on fucking someone over as badly as you can are the ones that destroyed the server and are why there's no more than 50 people on it at any time and none of us are willing to come back.

As for red 99 and exp deaths. There is no more of those shenanigans and Rogean just smacked down <The Heretic> for trollin hard in game and forums. I haven't been exp deathed in liek... 4 years... the times I have been playing off and on. Not on purpose anyway.

Agree with you.

Out of all our servers, i'd probably prefer red.. but a game is no fun by yourself. I think most folks don't like PvP anymore in any games. Even in WoW pvp servers have largely gone out of favor over PvE. PvP is going away from RPG's

Anyway the intent of this thread wasn't to 'try red' I honestly don't think anyone here is cut out for EQ pvp, it takes a special keen and elite mind and clearly most of you have lost your edge. The intent was to shame some of you into feeling bad about your pixel lust, corruption, and decadent corrupt exploitative lifestyle and your angry toxic out of character in real life behavior on green, namely. I believe as the few really angry responses shown, I have truly brought awareness to to a few lost souls. May your journey from this world to the next be swift and merciful.

I really do not feel like it's appropriate to be exclusionary towards any groups because of a perceived disability.
