few questions about starting out.

I am just now starting out on green, and I got my GF to come play with me as well, she is brand new to EQ and MMOs as well, she decided to roll a paladin to start out with, and i was just wondering what sort of weapon should we look at getting for her? a 2hs? a sword and board? what would be a good, extremely cheap weapon to pick up for brand spankin newbs?

Bone bladed claymore or silvery two handed axe is good for the serpent sight if human. Both are fairly cheap. Farm some orc belts to sell and youll have money for them in no time. Bone bladed is around 30p silvery around 100p

look out for 1h weapons that don't proc with a low delay and high damage (closer to equal ratio). They'll produce consistent DPS. This of course is not the min/max but it's the truth.

consistent dps is better than burst dps in my opinion for new players. Almost kind of a secret.

That's right, and don't let people tell you that the first floor is camped. First floor is not a camp.
