Default Contradiction in Warrior guide about starting stats

Edit: It seems that now the debate is DEX vs. STA. I will always be duoing with a Shaman, or in a group including her... so, does it make a difference? Perhaps I should go 15dex/10sta? I'd like to be effective as possible at endgame, and don't mind a little inconvenience leveling along the way, since I'm duoing.

Original post, with question already answered:
"Here, it says STA isn't a good option for assigning starting stats: http://wiki.project1999.org/index.ph...ior#Statistics

Here, it advises every race to max STA: http://wiki.project1999.org/index.ph...ing_Statistics"

...?

Still trying to decide if I should try 1999... so I just want to be sure I make the right call if I roll a warrior [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

Edit: This seems to call for STR maximization too: http://wiki.project1999.org/index.ph...ace_and_design
Sta/Str are capable of being maxed via gear (especially if you go Ogre/Troll). Agi/Dex are not.

If you don't expect to become a high-end raider, go ahead and put all your points in stamina. It won't get maxed unbuffed until Velious raid gear, especially if you're not an ogre. If you're absolutely sure you're gonna be a hardcore raider, dump all your points in dex.

and the points in dex are to increase weapon procs to increase aggro which is vital (this wasnt explained to him) and valuable even if you're not a raider

I'd say it depends on your race choice.

Ogre/Troll - definitely DEX with some added AGI to avoid penalty.

All other races - Either go all DEX (to be extremely DEXy) or go with Stamina if you want a more "balanced" Warrior.

The stat suggestions on most class pages on the wiki aren't very good. The issues are that everyone has differing opinions on the right way to do it.

And that information is pulled from Castersrealm from like 2000 and most of that was pulled from the strategy guide.

All warrior races get at least 75 base agility without needing to put points into it. It's the least useful of all the melee stats, giving 1 AC per four agi or thereabouts. Not worth spending points in. I think ogre shadowknights and dwarf (maybe erudite) paladins are the only melee classes that have to dump 5 into agi.

I want to play a Barbarian Warrior, so it sounds like DEX all the way... Is that the general consensus?

When I played, people vacillated between STR and STA, DEX was never really pushed hard. So I'm kind of taken aback... is there a post out there explaining what the real ups and downs of given starting stats are, aside from the bleh info on the wiki?

Try 1 ac per 4 agi OVER 100 agi...

If you are under 75 your ac is LACKING more than 6 ac....
