Ok I grabbed a nap and had this little bit of a dream that made me remember a specific event that occurred almost immediately after the release of kunark. Right after I got the CD and installed,I had taken one of my chars out to droga to bind them and get an item I knew about having already played in the beta. Turns out they not only removed the item I wanted from the beta,but they also removed th e ability to bind there.
That said, I still recall daisy chaining people into seb and/or howling stones with a single key. No clue about VP key.
I still think other than just a waste of players time the only real issue of difficulty/danger non-soulbound keys offered was the fear of losing ones corpse. That never happens at all P99, so it seems pretty pointless.
