How Effective/Broken is Scimitar of the Mistwalker?

Havent played in ages but still browse around the boards and subreddit. Saw that 5 of these dropped on Green. Is it crazy effective? Crazy cool? Anyone have a video/gif of the proc? Ive always been intrigued by this weapon.

it kinda sucks and its okish i guess

I tested it out on a test server

people just want it because its a legacy item and who doesn't want a wolf pet attack

out of nowhere!

there's only like 5 ish of them on green I think

It was good for a while, then it got nerfed so that the wolves would despawn after ~12 seconds. The proc looks neat but the dps is easily outclassed by other weapons.

was a really abusable bug with them back in the day -- it involved dueling and charming he mistwalker. would stick around until the charm broke. You were allowed to charm player/npc pets for awhile in vanilla. there were tons of bugs/exploits related to it.

It never worked like it did on classic pre-nerf.

Ratio on it is pretty bad, but the name is badass and it's pretty iconic.
