It all got fucked up in 331. Nicea. You KNOW the romans rewrote that needed to be rewritten. Do you really think the OG writers said "give unto ceaser what is his?" like come on... if the dude was listening to a god, why would he say to obey a king and pay your tax? You just found out theres gods and all this shit dont matter..
They were baiting him into inciting an insurrection against Rome and Jesus said look you goofs, pay your taxes, that is not what is important here.

When asked what was the most important? He said Love God and Love your neighbor as yourself "this sums up the law and the profits" do you understand what that means? He didn't give specific political instructions because there is no blueprint for success for human beings except if we can choose to love each other.

Its clearly not a state-ist religion because it really neglects talking about political things at all except Jesus telling his hilarious followers to pay their taxes so they don't have to get thrown in the slammer roman style.

You may find other reasons to feel that Christianity is "meh" but blatantly obvious re-writes mormon style is not going to be one of them. Then again Mormons will tell you they are Christians so you gotta be careful with definitions too.

There isn't a lot of room for interpretation about that particular "Give to caesar" passage because of the the context. It's very clear what is Caesars.

Now the passage about mask wearing is really intense.

Christ defeated the Roman state effortlessly with his death on the cross.

(Sur)render unto Caesar means let them control what they can control and reserve the rest for God and your Immortal Soul.

Also, get a wife. Best tyrants.
