I can't speak for how things are in FoW, but I know for a damn fact in Black Lotus that Aeaolena would go through tremendous (and sometimes downright creepy) lengths to background check new apps via P99 forum posts and Discord activity to make sure we weren't bringing on any bad apples.
And ex-BL can vouch for me that my standard comment during app discussions was "an app has 30 days to lay low and not cause any problems... if they present this many red flags and they're not even a full member yet, it's a pretty easy no from me." In fact, the joke was: [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
