He's referring to EQLive hotzones with high EXP modifiers and additional loot tables, not anything done on this server to promote population growth.

there used to be high exp mod in sola when the population was tiny to get everyone to go there. It wasn't to cause population growth, but because of a lack of opulation. Then, when the population did grow nto as a result of the hot zones, they removed them.

I'm sure if people saw populated zones they'd continue to play as well, so indirectly it causes population growth, but I see what you are saying.

Also, that's probably not what he's talking about. Derp.

There aren't 'hotzones', but the zones do have built-in xp rate modifiers like they did originally

They were, if 05' was back in teh day which it is!

But to answer your question, no . No current style "hotzones" will ever exist.

Different zones have different exp mods usually, allmost most are extremely close in comparison.

Dungeons will allways have a higher % xp mod.

Post taken from Aeolwind -

Ok, for clarification:
- Newbie zones will be receiving a XP bonus of about 10%. Total increase is actually 25% in the xp modifier value, but will result in only 10% speed.

- Outdoor dungeons, like Mistmoore/Unrest/Blackburrow, will receive less of a bonus than say Guk or SolA/B.

( lol had to edit that post a bit)

And heres some ZEM's (zone exp modifier) for many classic zones. (these are more than likely wrong now, as they have changed some of the ZEM's and smoothened them out with kunark zones. This info is from late 2009.
