honestly, they can charge cheaper rates because they expect less from their employees.

our friends, not us thankfully, have had issues with jiffy lube and wal-mart and quality of service. one friend had them not fully tighten the oil filter, and it flew off down the street a ways. another friend took his vw tdi (diesel) to jiffy lube, wrong oil and they couldn't find the filter for it so the put the old one back in.

imho if you care about your car, do it yourself or pay a friend with alcohol who enjoys working on cars to do it.
Well I can check the reciept to see what oil they put in it, and I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the quality of service at your jiffy lubes in your area are ghetto as shit if they don't know how to put on an oil filter. I've never heard of anything like that happening around where I live. Then again I always get synthetic so maybe they pay more attention to what their doing cuz they think they can try to upsell me on stupid shit.

this honestly might be a problem localized to southern california (although I doubt it). I only say this because i remember a year or two ago there were ripples going through local news media about how Jiffy Lubes rip people the fuck off, charge them for services not performed, etc
