If you’re trying to discredit the recent record breaking European heatwave by showing it was hotter in 2017 then you’re showing the wrong date. The heat wave was in July, which is the 7th month, not the 6th. 18-19thish.
Yes, the 2nd map shows most of Germany and Northern France practically 'on fire' with those temps that are -5-7 degrees on average below the first map.

25 C = 77 F.. it's definitely fearmongering to color code anything beet red for 77 F in June/summer, in Southern Germany.
