Are magicians the same as they were in 99/2001 ?

Lvl 16 pet spells are the last ones that con yellow to you, lvl 20 can be even but after that they will all be blue,and at higher levels you can summon green con pets.
Mages pretty powerful while leveling,but avoid white cons for xp. They will just be far too inefficient.
If your remembering luclin era in 2001,the game was much easier by then.

Yes that's maybe the problem, since i played warrior/druid when i began the game and magician only later, i maybe remember more the later period that you say was easier. I remember being barely too high level to get exp in "paludal caverns" on luclin release, so i was around level 25 with magician when luclin was released.
