Instead of using spell gems as hotkeys make macro keys with

/stopsong
/cast 1

If gives you a bit more time and can weave 4

/stopsong
/cast #

Make one for each song, 1-8. These are the ones you will use 9 times out of 10, if you're actually paying attention (and when you're the group's puller/cc/tank, you damn well better be paying attention).

You can macro up 2 songs by doing:

/stopsong
/cast 1
/pause 30
/stopsong
/cast 2

You can use a pause of 30. As it stands, it works every time.

You can combine some of the commands onto one line, but never enough to do 3 songs correctly with one macro, so it's there's no real advantage to gain from it. Additionally, the more songs you have per macro the less reliable it will be, and the more work you'll have to do every time you change the songs you have memmed.

Professional Bard here. The point of melee as a Bard is to proc things. Go for useful procs and completely ignore weapon damage/delay. If you're not twisting 4 songs, swapping instruments and weapons, proccing shit, and entertaining the group then you're not playing Bard. If a single mob you're fighting casts a spell you failed and should delete your character.

Also in the current P99 broken channeling/charm/mez meta Enchanter is still ridiculously OP making Bards retarded as a character choice.

He was charming adds with me (my huge cha buff apparently helps their charms), and rather than me peeing my mana finishing charm pets, I’d just root it and he’d stack 3 dots on it. Them dots are pretty nasty

And of course that mana song is juicy. It’s a shame that songs don’t affect pets on p99, I coulda swore they did on live EQ
